Lisa Philosoph - Art Dealer
Ripoff Sells mass produced art from China and India and says it's by Columbia & NYU students

Education & Science

Lisa Philosoph of 154 W. 92nd St. #2F, New York, NY 10025, sold me and many other people oil paintings she posted on Craigslist.

She told me they were painted by Columbia and NYU students in NYC. The truth is, they're not even oil paintings. They're oleographs that are mass produced in China and India by peasants.

A huge show was put on by a group about an hour from my home at a large hotel. They had the identical "supposedly" unique paintings she had sold me and they had hundreds of them.

The oil paintings as she referred to them, began to peel off the backing like contact paper.

She posts on Craigslist.

When I found out she had sold me fakes, I confronted her and told her not to cash my checks. She admitted that she would refund me and instead, cashed all the remaining checks I had given her.
