Advantage America
Claim to be IRS to deposit $12,500. They tried to ripoff $300 from my checking account Ripoff Winter Park

Education & Science

I got a telephone call from an Middle Eastern sounding guy telling me he was from the IRS. He said, every year the IRS picks 200 people to give back their taxes, which was $12,500 for me. Then he told me they would take $300 in a few weeks for a processing fee. All he needed was my bank routing number. With it being tax season he half-way convinced me that he was the IRS.

I decided to give him an account that I didn't use in case what he was saying was true. While I was on the phone with him I transfered what little money I had in the account to savings. After he got my info he told me that they would call back and I would go through an automated system. This is were it got really fishy. A Middle Eastern sounding lady called me back and took me through an automated system. This system wanted me to agree to buying things. I objected, she got a little upset. And that was it for the day.

About 2 weeks later I got an insufficient funds letter from the bank. After investigating I found that Advantage America made a check with my routing info. This check was suppose to be paid to Easy Step Solutions - 1000 for Medical Grants. I do recall the automated system trying to sell something medical. Needless to say I stopped payment on this account and I will close it when everything clears.

This Company, or scam should I say, has called me quite often over the past 5 weeks. Even when I found out they were a scam just a day after it happend. They are very persistent. I hope this helps to bring justice.
