My mother-in-law Marny is a wonderful, caring, 82 year old woman. She has owned and ran her 30 year business out of her home. Keeping her good name in the community and all over Northern California.

In late 1999, Marny allowed her oldest daughter's son, girlfriend, and daughter to move in from Arizona. Soon after, Marny suffered a stroke and became limited to what she could accomplish. Her grandsons girlfriend LORI ANN HAWK, cared for Marny as she rehabilitated, did the grocery shopping, asissted Marny in paying the bills, ran errands, etc.

For over 2 years LORI was stealing and draining Marny of all her savings, maxing her credit cards, applying for and recieving un-authorized credit cards, hiding her bank statements, cashing Marny income tax refunds, bought 2 vehicles with Marnys credit, writing Marny's checks for over the amount at various stores, forging Marnys signature on her checks, as well as convincing WELLS FARGO that Marny was incompetent without a court order and gained full access to Marny's 3 bank accounts.

Not until November 15 did my husband & I start noticing a decrease in her business & personal finances. We brought it too my sister-in-laws attention, and confronted the situation. They blatantly denied all wrongdoing. We made a police report, posted a 30 day notice on thier door and began investigating ourselves. They packed a couple overnight bags and left for a hotel, showing total GUILT!

As we began searching through their belongings, we came across a large amount of proof as well as other unbelievable documents LORI had no right keeping in her posesion. 2 years of bank statements, Marny's altered license, forged checks, credit cards Marny never applied for, notes LORI had kept on banking, reciepts, Marnys business and house deed, deceased husbands death certificate, and other items we could not believe.

Since all of this my husband & I have had to move in and take care of Marny and help her sort through this mess. We are having to help Marny refinance her home in order to stay afloat. LORI ANN HAWK hurt her more than financially, she hurt a woman that loved and trusted her with all her heart. We are currently pressing charges and bulding a case against this THIEF so Marny can be at ease and rest her remaining years. Something must be done so that LORI ANN HAWK does not do this to another!
