College Pro Painting
Ripoff took me out of college, put me in dept, and almost ruined my life

Education & Science

College Pro painting, together realizing potential. That's their motto, and boy did they realize my potential, potential to make them money and put myself $7500 dollars in debt, not including my school loans for two years, which came out to roughly $30,000, which I now have to pay back prematurely. Thank you College Pro, I couldn't have done it without you.

I was hired on to be a franchisee, with no money coming directly out of my pocket! I had a phone meeting with my general manager every monday where he would complain about me not doing my job, even though I put in anywhere between 40 and 80 hours a week trying to make this thing work.

College Pro tells you stories about making $30,000 in the course of one summer, which appeals to almost every college student. What they don't tell you is that you have to start working at the beginning of the spring semester of school to be successful at all, and in the end you make about 5 bucks an hour.

When the summer started, I was working 40 hours during the weekdays painting, then marketing after painting averaging about 10 hours a week, and also giving FREE estimates on the weekends, putting in about 20 hours there. As July came around, I was getting a ride to work with a fellow franchisee, painting for him, and not making any money.

The only thing good that came out of college pro was the fellow franchisee and friend, and if it wasn't for him I would have starved because he and his wife fed me for two months until painting season ended. I then was forced to drop out of school, get a factory job, and surrender about 80% of my pay to rent I owed, hospital bills, paint bills, hardware store credit cards, and since I was not a full time student anymore I now have to pay back my student loans.

Now, a year later, I am still in debt, have not been able to get back into school fulltime, and I still pay out most of my money for collectors and bills shortly after it goes into my checking account. The best part is, nobody can sue this company because they make you sign something that says you can't when you start. My mom jokingly told me that if I ever signed something like that again she would cut my fingers off.

So instead of a great learning experience, College Pro provided me with a drop out, broke, factory worker lifestyle where even a year later I'm still struggling to get back on my feet. I would have to say that the worst thing I've ever done in my life was being a part of the college pro, show them how we make money off the students scam.
