AOL DSL: a joke

Hi...

December.

I decided to switch to AOL's DSL. Better pricing was my main reason.

AOL's requirement according to their website information?

FULL PRICE MONTHLY service or Annual payment price.

I selected Annual payment price.

Changed my billing. And was charged for the full year during the last week of december.

I called up Pacbell DSL to cancel, and they informed me it would be cancelled at the end of the billing cycle. 1/15/02.

What AOL failed to notify me was that i had to cancel my pacbell DSL BEFORE they started the process. Hence when aol contacted pacbell on 1/10/02, pacbell told them i already had pacbell DSL, hence it was noted on my account that i had DSL with pacbell.

When i noticed this on 1/11/02, i contacted aol. After 2 disconnections, 5 transfer errors, i finally was able to get to AOL's DSL Billing. They informed me this was not their area and transferred me to AOL DSL technical.

After all that jazz, AOL DSL's Technician said no problem, that he would set it so dsl would be reordered.

2 weeks later, nothing. No email. No confirmations.

The DSL order status still stated that i still had pacbell DSL and last atttempt was 1/10/02.

So the first week of february...
Again i called DSL support. This time, the tech had no idea why it wasn't working, and suggested that i switch to the month to month full price service. Since the annual price WAS NOT part of the DSL deal.
And stated that my annual price would be credited for for the remaining months. But not the month of january or february, EVEN THOUGH IT WAS STATED ON THEIR WEBSITE that DSL was available for either annual or month-month unlimited service.

So my billing was switched to a month to month service 23.90.

And guess what. My DSL is still not ordered.

On top of that, my credit was never issued. AND they've charged me for the month of February.

So in other words... Today is 2/28/02.2 months AFTER i first ordered AOL DSL...

They've charged me 239.40 (annual) start: 12/27/02)
NO DSL as of yet and they've charged me 23.90 for the month of february. (2/02)

So in 2 months, AOL has charged me $263.30!!!
And i have YET to see any progress on my DSL order.

A joke, right?
