I got 'em! American Grants Information Center attempted to rip me off! I got 'em!

I was contacted by a company that promised me that I would receive $5,000.00 if I provided my routing and account number. I did. I then went on to my bank and promptly moved my funds to another account and kept the other one open for the purpose of having them make their "transaction" at the date I agreed to over the phone. This was on March 29.
I then went on to Google and ran a check on the company. I found out this was their usual thing to do and my suspicions were confirmed. I have contacted the company and let them know that they are on the internet, have a bad reputation for scamming people and that if they proceed with the transaction I am going to file a STATE lawsuit for false advertising, fraud and misrepresentation and FEDERAL for misrepresentation of the UNITED STATES government!

I suggest if this happens that you do the same. The number I have provided is a valid number and you will reach some one. He will have a foreign accent. Threaten him with a lawsuit as I have done and a cancellation number will be issued.

In the meantime change your account number and if need be cancel the transaction with your bank. There will most likely be a minimal charge by your bank for the cancelled transaction.

*the best advice i can give is to not do business with these people at all - prevent yourself from getting scammed by hanging up the phone!!! *
