Worldwide Travel Center
Is a blatant, in-your-face scam that comes from the mind of a sick, evil person

Education & Science

As tax season approached, I began looking around for a charity or organization to donate my car to. After searching around on the Internet, I found an outfit named Kars4Kids who were offering a two-night hotel voucher.in my naive mind, I pictured a simple voucher that I could use at any hotel, at any time. What I received in the mail, couldn't have been more different.

The voucher came from Worldwide Travel Center and as soon as I saw the confusing language of the fine print they call a contract, I knew I had been had. First off, I'm supposed to pick three destination choices. This puts me at the mercy of what's available instead of going where I really want. Then, I'm supposed to mail in my request rather than call or submit on-line and wait a month for a response. If my preferred destination is not available, I have to repeat the whole process, through the mail. Oh, and the best part is that I'm supposed to give my credit card number and a check for $50 for what they call a "reservation guarantee". Since when is anything more than a credit card needed to hold a reservation? I asked the girl on the phone when I would be getting that $50 back and she said someone would come up to me and hand it back to me while I was on my big vacation. Doesn't that sound awfuly suspicious and creepy? I guess it's par for the course with this house of mirrors. I've read that a lot of people haven't been able to get their $50 refund back so I guess no one came and handed it back to them while they were on vacation. The truth of the matter is that they keep your $50 and that pays for the two nights at the specially-negotiated rate they got at super cheap hotels. They promise a luxury vacation at a top resort, showing people fishing and hiking in the brochure with big stupid grins on their faces while the truth is people are put in one star roach motels.

They tell you that you have to book between 30 and 90 days prior to your arrival date. I tried booking several places like Palm Springs, Las Vegas and Anaheim 90 days in advance on-line and, of course, nothing was available. When I called customer service and got some retard on the phone after over 20 minutes, she told me that these places are actually available if I mail in my request. I asked her about the 90 minute sales pitch I'm supposed to go to and she said that really wasn't necessary. I have since learned that if you choose to forgo the lecture, they downgrade you from a 2 star hotel to a 1 star hotel. I also asked the girl why I can't do this over the phone or on-line like every other reputable company and she told me that was "just company policy".

The bottom line is this is a huge scam where they take your $50 and make it super difficult and inconvenient for you to actually use the hotel stay, if it even exists. I'm a firm beliver in karma and I think the a-hole who actually put considerable time and effort into dreaming this up to cheat and hurt others will suffer an unfortunate fate the same as baby rapers and thieves. I would never, ever subscribe to this nonsense but it was linked to an outfit named Kars4Kids, which sounded honest and legit but turns out to be a big fraud also. (I called their company president, this jackass named Eli and, after finally getting him on the phone, he said he had no knowledge of the hotel voucher, which is a blatant lie, and that he would connect me with a customer service rep who was. Of course, I was put on indefinite hold.)

Please be aware of Kars$Kids and Worldwide Travel Center, they are both out to cheat and hurt you. I'm reporting both to the respective Better Business Bureaus in their states. I don't know if my efforts will produce real results but at least I tried.
