Ripoff breach of contract, poor settlement, and poor contact with client Pensacola Florida

I retained this company in July to represent me in a siding board class action suit. The agreement stated that they would get 1/3 of the settlement. Their representative could not state how much I would get; however, he said the usual settlement was $3-5,000, and would take 6-9 months.

I only heard from this company once (via email) during their "representation" of me until they sent to me my "settlement", which was forced upon me. I sent this company at least three letters demanding they update me with any efforts thay have made to settle my claim.

I was sent a settlement check for $260 (deducting Construction Affiliates' 1/3 fee) in October which I had previously told Construction Affiliates was unacceptable. They basically told me I was "stuck" with the settlement, and they would do nothing further to process my claim.

This was a breach of their agreement with me. Their contract expressly stated that I would be given an opportunity to examine the proposed settlement, and they would advise me whether I should accept or decline it. I was never given this opportunity, and had the settlement basically forced upon me by Construction Affiliates.

Construction Affiliates accepted the settlement, took their money, and sent me the balance— all without respect for my input. Additionally, by the time they sent the check to me, my right to seek an additional inspection had expired, and I could not appeal the settlement findings.
