12/18/12

I spoke with Lisa Velarde (Executive director) on 9/19 re-guarding me taking custody of my grandchild Troy per court order (which i did give her a copy of the court order to place in my employee file). I told her I would not be able to work nights starting on 10/1 due to the minor child not able to be left alone, and if she was unable to work with me until Jan. (the first of the year) that I needed to know ASAP, because I needed my 40 hrs per week. She stated at that time that there
would not be a problem and they would work with me. I went to her again on 9/20 to make sure that there would not
be any problems at all with me working the am (teaching) and the afternoon shift (teaching or helping out if needed). Because I was offered another job and I would accept the other job if she was not able to accommodate. She stated that they would work with me and not to leave.

I was informed on 10/29 that I would not be working in the afternoons and that there was nothing for me to do to help out. I told her I had spoke to her back on 9/19 and that she said they would work with me. My pay check for 10/31 was shorted $289.64. The 11/15 was the correct amount because she had me training another employee to teach the Medical Billing and Coding for those 2 weeks.

The 11/30 check was again shorted $392.71 and the 12/14 check was shorted again $687.21 for a total of $1369.56. According to our employee handbook on page 69 (since I have been an employee with FTC for over 5 yrs that I am entitled to 30 consecutive days pay @ 100% under the FMLA guidelines.

Other departments have gone to Lisa asking for help and were told to them that I would not be able to help them without any reasoning behind this.

I am writing this to you not as a disgruntle employee, but I do have some concerns about my treatment in this matter. I have not called in once nor have I not done what was asked of me when it comes to doing any outside activities such as working the Strawberry Festival, Breast Cancer walks, Car Washes, Meetings etc... I enjoy what I do. I enjoy working with the students and seeing them achieve there goals and I have worked with them one on one when they have asked
for help.

I was hired on as a salary medical instructor and have been cut to hourlywith nothing in writing or even being told verbally that this would be done to me. The last thing I want to do is cause any kind of problems in this company that I have put several yrs into, but I feel that for some reason or another I have been targeted with the comments that have been made to other co-workers. I do not want to take this matter any further than this, but I am willing to do so if needed. Thank you in advance for your cooperation in this matter.

Addendum to the 12/18 letter sent out:

I recieved my pay for the 12/31 and was shorted once again this time for the amount of $ 261.02. I feel that I should be reimbursed for the entire amount of $1630.58. I have not received a call or email as of today from anyone in management acknowledging that I have even sent a previous letter. Letter was sent to Mike Zuccheri, Dave Ruggieri, Wallace Pond, Dr. Penn, Dean Ward and Lisa Velarde.
