Ripoff failure to properly pay wages to employees

In August I worked for Mike Musgrove dba-4 Star Building Maintanence here in Visalia, CA. We had been friends for over 6 years. He made me an offer to work for him as a junior partner.

He said he would pay me $10.00/hr for all jobs. Well he got me going and after we finished work at a customers house where I put in 127 hours of work on that job alone over 3 weeks time.

I also worked 3 other jobs with him during this time frame. All said and done he owed me $1875.00!
I got a check from the home owner we did the work for instead of Mike (that he wouldn't pay taxes.) The check was for $900.00 and Mike now refuses to return calls or messages. He told the home owner that was ALL I WAS OWED!
