Beware of Ripoff!

I took advantage of a Living Social AC checkup special for $50 from Valpo Services. They came out and Said there w some dust in the furnace that Rey could vacuum out for $100. I said no thanks to that.

Fast forward to a cold fall evening: I turned on the heat and it the pilot light would not go on. I called Valpo immediately as this has never happened and the system is fairly new. The owner said that the heat and AC are two separate things and that they are not responsible for the problem.

Well I had another HVAC company come out and they told me that someone moved a wire on a capacitor which caused the blower to run backwards and very very hot. This would not allow the heat to turn on. They said that I was very lucky that the blower did not burn out as it was VERY hot. This would have amounted to an $800 repair easily.

I called the owner of Valpo again and he denied that they moved this wire and that he did not have time to deal with this. I am looking into my options at this point as I am pretty sure Valpo's repair guy moved the wire in hopes of getting more work out of me.
