Fake Home Rental and Application Fee Scam

I responded to a for rent street sign. I was called back by Mrs. Shemeka Freeman and she schduled a viewing of the rental property. He husband was in towe and she made a point of saying he was a police officer and that she was a licensed realtor. She also said that she had 4 properties. She was very persistant with getting me a credit application and telling me that it would be $75 to process because that was the fees that she would be charged for verification.

She called to verify the information herself and then she made rediculous request of income verification of me and my co renters employers. She eventually sent a text message advising that we were approved and that she would be meeting me with a lease the next day.

Well the next day she advised that she had did more checking and needed more information. When she got the information that wasn't enough. She then, as she put it, "had creative options for us to rent the home."

This creative option was to pay $100 more than what was agreed on for the rent and to do so for six months. She made this rediculous offere knowing that it would be declined and she would be free to keep the $75 application fee. Making it appear that she had tried to make things work out.

This is just a fraude to get $75 from everyone who applies to rent the home. If she does this 3 or 4 times a week she will have her mortgage each month.

Don't fall for this scam from Shemeka Freeman or any other individual. Don't rent from anyone who don't have a professionsal verifiyer processing the application. I am afraid now that she will use my personal information for identity fraude or what ever.

I text her and she said I was welcome to call her and now she will not answer my calls.
