I contracted to rent a property from Jan Marie Dubois from August 1 to October 31. I sent her a deposit of $1200.00 on July 11, she cashed the check and it cleared on July 17. She sent me a confirmation that said I had a rental property available to move in to from August 1 to October 31. When I arrived on August 1, she said she was not expecting me until August 5, even though I had a confirmation of occupancy for Aug 1. I came back on August 5 and she told me once more she had no available occupancies. I requested my deposit back and she told me she did not have it. She had used my money to pay her plumber for a water issue she was having. I have since asked for the refund and she has given me some lame story about having to request the money from her Credit Card Company and it would take two to three weeks to get the money.
