Extremely Overpriced

I had a bad leak in my pressure tank for my well at 5:30pm on a Friday. I saw the ad and called, knowing I needed it fixed. I was shocked to hear replacing the tank would cost $2500! If you get the furnace cleaning for $98, it drops it to $2200. I felt in a position as I couldn't keep calling plumbers, but wish I researched online first. The guy did good work, that wasn't the issue. I looked up the tank that was installed, MSRP of $249.00, about 6ft of copper and five basic fittings. The controller was not replaced. At best, it totalled $275 in parts. The time spent was 3 1/2 hours. This means that I paid $550/hr! I actually felt sick to my stomache when I looked up the parts (NOTE: I asked up front how much the tank was, but he was unable to give me a price as they have a book that tells them how much to charge for each type of job). After chatting on Facebook with others about it, I found one other person familiar with them and he called them Flat-Rip-Off. I would NEVER use them again. Overtime at another place was $145/hr. Had they told me how much the tank was I would have told them NOT to do it... SHOP AROUND!!! These economic times are NOT the time to rip people off. Extremely disappointed.
