Rip-off!

I have Maytag Model Number MSD2556AEW. Side by Side. On August 20th it leaked water on my Cherry Hardwood Floors, leaked water in my finished basement and family room. So far the early damage reaports are $5,000 and counting. Purchased (04/19/99) The solenoid that controls the water dispenser was triggered by a faulty command (suspect the electronic pad) and dispensed water all morning. The solenoid was tested today and it was determined that it burned itself out.

I called Maytag today looking for some kind of relief. It is their policy that if it is out of warranty thay will not offer any kind of consideration for helping. Bear in mind I am looking at a $340-$400 repair for the appliance, $500 home owner deductable plus any other expenses. Maytag would not even consider sending me parts at a reduced cost. The young man said "it is out of warranty". What a sad day for Maytag that they would not offer any help to any of the posters. The customer service representive said there is no way that Maytag will help in reagrds to my problem.

I asked him why would not Maytag be willing to help me with the parts cost of approximately $250-$300 when in the big picture the cost is ten times that! He never answered the question! It is a culture that Maytag teaches it's customer service reps, if it is out of warranty, do not offer to help.
