Reliant Capitol, LLC installed a patio cover on March 3, without a permit. My husband and I have been talking to Ron at Reliant, and he said they have never needed a permit in the twenty years they have been in business, and that this must be an El Paso, Texas requirement. We have been dealing with Relant over a two-month period, with no results or follow-up from the company. On Friday, June 15, I talked to Robert at Reliant, and he told me a permit should have been requested before the patio cover was installed. He explained that the guy in charge of installing the patio cover was new and did not know better. He said he would have an answer for me yesterday (June 19), regarding the permit, and, one way or another he would call me, however he did not.

In the meantime, we have been trying to install a ceiling fan and sensor lights on the patio cover, but the hold-up is with Reliant's inability to attain a permit for this structure. My husband called Reliant at 4:00 pm, today, June 20, w and was told that Robert was in a meeting, however he would receive a call within 30 minutes. Robert did not call back within the specified time, which was two hours ago. I told Robert on June 15 that I have been patient enough, and I am going to the media, and any other resources available to me to get this issue resolved. I also told Ron and Robert that my husband and I are celebrating our 38th wedding anniversary on June 22. and we had planned an outdoor party, in hopes that the ceiling fan and lights would be installed by that date. My pleas and requests to Reliant have been fruitless.

This issue regarding a building permit was brought to our attention by the City of El Paso, Environmental Services about two months ago, when I initially contacted Robert at Reliant.
Any help you can provide in order to facilitate a permit would be greatly appreciated.
