Ken Butler Landscaping Scam

I contacted Service Magic for a yard service. I was contacted by the owner of the company, Mr. Ken Butler within minutes. He said he was a landscaper with many years of experience.

On the phone the guy was good and knew what he was talking about and when he showed up he had photos of all kinds of yards that he supposedly designed and managed. He quoted me a price and gave me a tap and dance about some personal issues and needing the job real bad. Against my gut feeling, I went ahead and gave him a substancial deposit and then the sad stories and excuses began.

I looked online and found that another couple had been scammed by him. He later showed up and although I didn't want to know his entire life or how many divorces he had, I kept hearing him and giving him time to tell his stories to see if he somehow got the job done.in the end got about 70% of the job done took all of the money and I had to pay someone else to finish the job.
