Ripoff - Dishonest Selling Practices - Ryan Homes - North Olmsted, OHIO

We started building our Ryan Homes on August 17 in Lexington Ridge Medina, OHIO. This last week (6/7/04), we were informed of covenant and restrictions that Ryan now says were in place on August 3 but my wife and I were never shown these restrictions. The covenants that we were shown were the one's that predated August 3 (less strict) and we signed off on what had been represented to us as accurate and current.

Today, I am doing a project in the back yard where we are building a payhouse/shed combination (192 square feet) which is were we found out last week (6/7/04), that a restriction existed about square footage (120 square feet maximum) in our neighborhood. My initial project was $3,500.00 for the combination unit and now that I am having to build two separate buildings, the project cost is now $7,000.00.

Ryan's answer: since I signed the HOA box even though they acknowledge I probably was not shown the correct covenants, the Cleveland, OHIO sales office manager states, "I have to trust our system and there is nothing that Ryan Homes can do." Leaving me to pay additional cost.
