Didn't caulk a window and created a leak inside my home and refused to fix the damage

I contracted with Unified in the summer of 2011 and they did a beautiful job. I paid them 23,000 dollars. On November 21st a very bad rain occurred and the wind blew the rain toward the east side of my house. I had a sudden leak in my kitchen wall and dripping from recessed lighting. I called Unified the next morning. They sent the subcontractor out after 10days and he caulked a second floor window that he reports wasn't caulked. When I inquired about the inside damage Unified told me it was in the contract and it was my problem. I can not believe that I could pay a company $23,000 dollars to replace all my windows and siding and end up with a leak. I can't believe they do not want to make this situation right. I have no idea why this company does not stand up for its quality of work and instead make a dissatisfied customer. Up till November 21st I was telling anyone who asked how wonderful Unified was and recommended them, now I can only say I wouldn't use them again.

This Long Island based company should have apologized and sent someone over to see the damge and fix it. Beware the writing on the back of the contract has wording indicating that they are not responsible for any damage that occurs inside the house. I am not sure that is legal and will be contacting the Attorney General and the Better Business Bureau. Why would this compnay not do the right thing? There poor installation created a leak in my home and they tell me to contact my homeowner's insurance. I have never made a claim againest my homeowner's and I won't now. Unified is responsible for my damaged wall and ceiling.
