Sean Fuller Incomplete, Unchecked, and Incorrect

Construction & Repair

We hired Sean Fuller, of In-House Design Group, Inc., to do a full bathroom remodel. Hiring Mr. Fuller simply did not result in high quality work. He convinced us that he is a master at tile work. He recommended us to let him build a tile tub from scratch rather than go with a standard tub because his work is so amazing. It simply doesn't look like it's built by an experienced professional. There are huge spaces between some tiles and rather large grout lines within the tub. There is also a 1 wide strip near the wall that he decided to fill with caulk rather than tile. There are areas, inside the tub, where the exposed tile edges are very jagged and uneven.

He had to come back after he was finished because he forgot to attach the faucet and set up the drain for the tub. He actually poured concrete and tiled around where the drain is supposed to be. Because of this, the drain we purchased for him to install doesnt work. He thought that installing a non-watertight rubber seal around the drain hole would be functional. Of course, a rubber ring over grouted 1 tiles will not create a watertight seal. He still thought everything was fine, so he still left without actually fixing everything.

The floor tile was not grouted properly. He came back to fix it when he tried to attach the fixtures in the tub. However, its still not done very well. Ill have to go back and fix it myself. He also installed our new toilet tank incorrectly, but was absolutely sure it was correct.

Instead of coming back again to fix what was wrong, Sean left me a long message explaining that he did not set up the toilet incorrectly. He also told me the problem with the tub drain cover was that the bolt was too long and I needed to get a hacksaw and saw it down. I ended up calling a plumber instead, who came and fixed everything. The plumber was very surprised that the toilet was put together so poorly. He also recommended that the area around the tub drain be broken up and redone. But he was able to use a different drain plug which works well.

Upon further inspection I noticed that he didnt caulk the top of the shower wall, so there is a big gap that Ill need to caulk myself. I also noticed that he didnt even make sure the toilet was properly bolted down. He bolted down one side and left the other side loose. One of the floor tiles is loose and already coming up off of the floor.

All in all it was a headache to deal with Mr. Fuller who turned out to be quite an incompetent contractor. His work with tile is average at best and he should never be trusted with plumbing or replacing a floor.
