Predator lenders - losing my home and property because they won't remodify loan due to unemployment

These people are lending predators. They work hand in hand with Clayton Homes and you DON'T want to use them as a mortgage lender. They started our loan out at over 10% interest until my husband lost his job. When we called to let them know that, all they wanted to know was when we were going to pay. They didn't offer any help and were rude, saying to borrow the money from someone.

Finally 8 months later, they agreed to "modify" if we came up with what we owed on one payment. They modified it down to 8.5% interest, which didn't help a lot, but it was a little better. The man I spoke with said he'd "better not have problems with us again". We figured out later, they refinanced instead of remodified. We had paid at least $50,000 to them, but hadn't paid the loan down but maybe $5,000. They set the loan back to 30 years and we had already paid for 5 years.

After unemployment ran out, we couldn't pay at all. We tried to pay someone to negotiate a remodify, but they couldn't do anything because Vanderbilt refused to cooperate with any government programs and said our loan was only a year old, which was a lie. We finally called them ourselves for remodification and they want $1500 before they work on a remodification. They said they are starting foreclosure and are now taking our property with it. We'd been on this land for 15 years and they're taking it all.

Clayton Homes originally left trash in our yard from putting the house there and never came back to take it to the dump. It's still there. We've tried to burn some of it. They messed up with the sewer pipes and put some kind of weird bend in it and after being here for 15 years, we all of a sudden started having to have our sewer tank sucked out. It's full again now and just had it done a year ago, but we're going to leave all the mess to them. Our a/c just broke (crappy a/c system) and we're going to leave that with them too.

I'm just upset that they wouldn't work with us and treated us like we're trying to rip THEM off and they're getting our property in the bargain. We're getting the shaft after putting that much money into it. Never use vanderbilt. They're mean, rude and care nothing about people except to get every cent they can out of you. I hate this place.
