Ripoff more hassle then it is worth put your money in your home!

We purchased our home in April. We purchased a home warranty to protect us if anything went wrong. The warranty company did not require any kind of inspections just one simple form and payment.

In June we had a roof leak and they took care of it no problems. The end of August came and we had the oil company come out to service the furnace for winter, the furnace didn't work and the Air condition was leaking and not cooling. Before we did anything we called the Warranty company. They told us the units were neglected by the previous owners and they would not cover them.

Despite the fact that the furnace itself was over 40 years old they said if it was taken care of it would
still work. If they want to exclude items like this due to neglect of previous owners I think they should have to inspect the property before selling you a Warranty.

Damage Resulting = It is now November and in the begining of October we had taken out a loan (which we can barely afford) to have everything replaced since
it was quite cold for September and October. We actually had our two little children sleeping in our room with a spacer heater going.

Now we are out $6,735.00. The warranty company finally decided to pay us $1000.00 that was the begining of October and we have yet to even see that. Our Lawyer says he feels we are entitled to atleast the $4,500.00 that their contract says is their max for both units. Still waiting for something they don't even respond to us anymore. I think they are hoping we will just go away if they ignore us.
