Tried to scam us out of $2250. Said Chimney needed repairs but it's fine according to paid inspection

These scammers work in Sullolk, Westchester, Nassau, Southhampton, Rockland, NYC, and Putnam Counties in NY.

AdvancedChimney came to clean our chimney for a low price, $39.95. They saidthat the chimney was in terrible shape, that it was falling apart, andthat it would be dangerous to use the oil furnace until they made anemergency repair. They said we needed 30 feet of stainless steel linertop to bottom and a rain cap. They quoted a price of $2250.00, and whenI said it was too much they said "Okay, then $1850."

Myhusband said he wanted a second opinion, so we called our oil companyand asked which chimney inspectors they recommend, and we paid for aproper inspection. Long story short, the chimney is in fine condition. It just needed a rain cap and that cost $167 installed including tax, and the cost of the inspection went toward that. They said we'd begood for at least 10 years without needing any repairs.

I'm so angry with Advanced Chimney. They are scammers.
I'm glad I didn't spend over two grand on fixingsomething that wasn't broken! But I went weeks scared to turn on theheat thanks to what those fools told me.
