Pressure Washers Now
Hamilton Equipment - sold me a brush that isn't as described & can't be used, said "not my problem"

Construction & Repair

I bought four power washer accessories from this company. They arrived promptly and I have no problems with three of them but one, a rotating brush, can't be mounted on the lance of my gun even though the brush is the same brand as my pressure washer (BE PowerEase) and the description in the ad said this, ""Used on the end of your pressure washer lance... Comes with a quick-connect plug to attach easily to your pressure washer lance." The trouble is, it didn't come with the quick-connect plug as described - only a 1/4" pipe nipple where the quick-connect would be mounted and without it there's no way to mount the brush on my lance.

So I emailed, expecting them to say oops and send the quick-connect plug.instead, they ignored that email, the next two and two phone calls. Finally, the next week I got a phone call from someone my caller ID said was calling from Hamilton Equipment company. He said the brush manufacturer was no longer supplying the connector. I pointed out that (a) his ad specifically said it was included and (b) without it the brush is unusable. He said, "Yeah, I'm changing the description. I repeated that I can't mount or use the brush and he said, "Well, you can return it but you'll have to pay the shipping and I won't return any of your shipping costs." I started to get a little loud and he suggested I go to an auto parts store and buy a connector - they will have them, he said.

Foolishly, I did that. To not one but three auto parts stores and an Ace Hardware. None had the exact fitting. All had fittings intended for compressed air including a 1/4" one that looked close so I bought that and installed it. Apparently close isn't good enough because it blew water all over me and the yard.

Finally, I mail ordered the right fitting from an online pressure washer parts place and that works great. Trouble is, it cost me $5 plus $8 for shipping. Considering that the power brush cost me $28.50, that's pretty steep to get it to actually work.

You do what you want but with their attitude I certainly won't deal with Pressure Washers Now again. And BTW, there's an online pressure washer buying guide site at http://www.pressure-washer-buyers-guide.com that pushes people towards Pressure Washers Now in every single page. The same guy? Just someone who shills for them? I dunno. He says he has no direct connect with Pressure Washers Now but you be careful out there, y'hear?
