$1000 of bug-infested sod, now 95% DEAD

We found this company online, and it looked legit, came for an estimate and since the process sounded better than the usual plop down sod, we contracted - tho no signed document. Grass was installed during hottest month with instructions to water twice daily - which we did faithfully. (Even tho Central Florida is on water restriction.)

Moth like creatures soon began to swarm from all the newly sodded areas. What sod was alive after installation gradually died off, leaving isolated blades growing in response to the watering/rainfall. Subsequent calls requesting resolution resulted in empty promises - 'too busy', maybe Saturday' - 'maybe Monday'; no call, no show, no response to either email or phone call. A to Z website shows palatial homes and BBB membership and 'guaranteed satisfaction'. Mark Shine has shown himself to be a liar, promising multiple time to show up and see 'what was up' with never a call or appearance!

We called another company to come in to try to rescue our investment when it was evident that Mark Shine would not make good on his work, and they immediately noted it was water-logged - TOO MUCH WATER! Tho we had faithfully followed the instructions from Mr Shine.

A complaint to Florida BBB supposedly has ended his using their logo/membership as recommendation for his work, his membership is discontinued or so BBB representative Heather S told me. They also attempted multiple contacts to no avail. The Florida Consumer Affairs referred me to Small Claims Court; I don't want more expense and his no-show in court, so have not followed thru. The man is a total jerk! He has our $1090 and appears to be too busy bankrolling money from suckers to live up to his advertised product. The man doesn't deserve to have any more business from this area!

I'm curious to know if anyone else out there has had a Mark Shine experience?!!!
