Ripoff thieves, cashed my 73 year old mother's check and sent nothing

My mother received a catalog from Deer Creek and decided to purchase an item. She mailed her check on March 31 and that's the last we've heard from them except that they cashed the check on April 9. While it was only for $17.98 it still is galling to know that a company can rip people off and not be responsible for their actions.

I have tried to call them and I just get the recording to hold as all customer reps are busy. I held for 20 the last time for nothing. I have sent 2 emails with no responses and then I saw all the complaints from others and that told me we are probably not going to get anything back. It's just sickening!!!
