Don't Walk... Run

Do not use Evergreen Van Lines! Ever! To make a long story short. I am still waiting for the rest of my things. The date had to be moved from the original date because of the death of my mother. After that things got much worse. I rescheduled, they missed the date—no call-no nothing! They finally got there the following week. What's worse is that I have already moved so I wasn't there. I had to rely on friends, that I hope are still friends. My home had staged for a sale so most things had already been packed. The only things left to be packed were a few staging items. When they finally got there I was called and told that I would be charged per step (I lived in a townhouse).. Evergreen took care of that.

Then I got a phone call stating that they needed 20 boxes to pack the few things left out and it was an outregeous amt per box. They used 13. I suppose if you took out all the paper they would have gone in 3 or 4. What should have taken 3 or 4 hrs at tops took them all day (about 9-10 hrs) so they couldn't leave as promised. And to put the icing on the cake, since they "packed" so many boxes, They couldn't fit the boxes that I had packed in the delapidated truck! But I was promised by Bobby that the rest of my things would be moved free of charge! I am still waiting! It's only been 2 1/2 months.

Then the phone calls began. I can't get gas, truck is broken, I'm stuck somewhere. They were supposed to be here at 8:00 am; they rolled in about 1:00pm. The weight was an issue. I only had enough furniture to do a one bedroom apartment! No livingroom furniture... Every piece I did have was damaged in some way! And I wonder if its because I wasn't the only person with a load on that small truck. And most of the items I need are still in Virginia! I have called, emailed, etc... Everything short of morse code and carrier pigeon! I can not get in contact with anyone! I had scheduled pick up for the remainder—several times. Bobby would not only not show up but he wouldn't contact me. I got to know Jasmine pretty good. And I overpaid almost double what was quoted! I am so frustrated with this and I can't help feeling that I was taken advantage of! I lost my son and my mother in a few months so I guess I looked like a good target.

I am looking at options right now. It looks like I will need to retain a lawyer.
