Dimension Service Corporation
Warranty Service Scam - Extended Warranty

Construction & Repair

We bought a 2000 VW Beattle in 5/07. Because of the mileage being around 70k, we went ahead and bought the extended warranty from AmeriGard at Dean Team Maplewood in St. Louis, MO. Fastward to September and my wife took the car into the VW shop for a warning light issue. It was repaired. Then 3 weeks later the car began smoking from the engine while my wife was on the highway. She pulled over. The car was towed to a nearby VW dealer. They determined what the problem was and contacted Dimension Service Corporation at 800-457-7703. Dimension Service Corporation at 800-457-7703 wanted the dealer to tear into the engine to make sure there wasn't anymore damage. We said fine and Dimesion Service Corporation at 800-457-7703 sent out an adjuster. The short of it, Dimension Service Corporation at 800-457-7703 claimed based on the adjuster's report that the damage was caused initially by an uncoverd part so I now have to buy a new engine. Here is the kicker. Dimension Service Corporation at 800-457-7703 wont give me a copy of the adjusters report that they quoted without me giving them $25. This is BS. The name on the letter was Eric Altherr at 800-457-7703 who denied the claim without freely providing backup. So I have to believe Eric Altherr pulled this letter out of his butt because he wont give me any backup.

I had to call Eric Altherr at 800-457-7703 several times just to get him to send me the denial letter. Eric Altherr at 800-457-7703 finally answered after getting some rep to transfer me to him. Eric said they send the denial letters out within 30 days of the claim result. I told him that was BS and I needed it within the next day. He fought with me for a few minutes claiming he would get to it when he could. We went around again for a few minutes telling him again I needed by the next day. To my surprise I received the letter, without the backup, the next day.

I always assumed these warranty companies are scam and Dimension Service Corporation has so far proven me correct. If you shop at Dean Team St. Louis, do not buy the extended warranty from Amerigard or Dimension Service Corporation.
