Had To Replace 2 Bad/Defective Transmissions!

Construction & Repair

I purchased the DR brush and field mower in 2005. The transmission was bad and was replaced in 2006. Then again another bad transmission in 2008! The first time, they did honor the warranty and replaced it for no charge. The second time, was not so great, They told the repair shop that it would be fully covered under warranty, but then they changed thier tune, and they only gave me partial allowance for the parts. So I had to pay $125. For labor.

I believe there must be an inherent design flaw in the transmission itself to be causing this problem. The repair shop did keep the bad transmission and did say that it has to be a defective transmission. This mower was used very little, it does not have a lot of hours on it.

I would never recommend this mower to anyone. Now I am afraid to use it at all for fear of losing another transmission. I do think that they should have went ahead and fully covered the total replacement costs for me since this was determined to be a defective Transmission.

I would be very interested to hear from anyone that has experienced similar problems with thier DR mower.
