Handyman Club Of America
Lie about testing tools and subscription

Construction & Repair

Handyman Club of America are liars. The Executive Director Larry Okrend or whoever this person is full of crap. You get things telling you to test products for a subscription to Handyman. I have had this subscription for some time now and I have received 3 magazines. The deal is for 3 years of magazines, so of course who wouldn't turn down this magazine for 3 years for $36.00. I figured it was a good deal. Boy was I wrong.

When you sign up for the 3 years they promise you a gas card and many other "free gift". The only free gift that I got was swiss army knife with a little flash light one it. Which you can go to Wal-Mart and buy for $10.00. Then they start sending books. The first book isnt bad, $10.00 plus you get a product test. After you pay them they send you a screw extracter set that is supposed to take out screw that are stripped out, well guess what? They dont work. All it does is strip it out to nothing by time its all said and done. And then what? You worse off than what you were to begin with. Then they sent me another book and expected me to pay $29.68 for it. Well I didn't return the book and I am not paying them.

I am going to send them a letter (sense I can't contact them by phone or e-mail) and tell them to keep my membership fee for the book, because by now I figured they arent going to be sending me anymore magazines or supposed "test products". And I probably wont be getting the refund that they promised.
