Deck contractor who destroyed my property, lied, worst construction, no show half the time, and used substandard materials

This was the WORST Contractor that I have ever dealt with in 28 years of owning real estate! I had a deck replaced on my Bilevel home. He said it would take no more than around 3 weeks... IT TOOK OVER 10 WEEKS, and that is not including the time we waited for the permit!!!

He was NEVER on time, 70% of the time didn't have a full staff with him to do the work, came anywhere between 10-10:30 am and left midday or by 4ish. He even came a few times at 11:30am and left by 1pm! He would say he was coming and then NOT SHOW UP and... NOT CALL! I had to hunt him down and call repeatedly half the time to find out when he was finishing the job!

He failed 3 inspections from the Township, destroyed my lawn by piling mounds of dirt on it and leaving it there for over a month, killed other areas by leaving PILES of wood, destroyed other areas by not cleaning up after himself and leaving inches of wood shavings! He also destroyed a stone and brick patio I had built last year by piling dirt on it, breaking the bricks, and left cigarette butts all over my property! He is awful!!! I spoke to him numerous times on how I was not happy with his performance and he would yes me to death. He made me lose time from my job because Id have to meet the town inspector and talk to him, and he wouldn't even show up to speak to him and then claim that he called the town and they didn't call him back.

The lattice that he used to top off the walls, is falling apart. He didnt even know how to cut it. He told me he used a razor blade to cut the sections. Now its all fraying, falling apart, and he didnt even glue it all in properly or staple in the loose ends.

The posts that the stairs were built off of, one of the posts has a half inch gap between the cement block and the wood. I do NOT know how this passed inspections! Half the wood planks that he cut for the walls going down the stairs, are cut sloppy, has rough edges, splintering, and mounted in a way that the screws are causing it to split. He even had to call in someone else to show him how to cut these stairs!

THE TOWN INSPECTOR SAID THAT MY DECK HAD SOME OF THE SLOPPIEST CONSTRUCTION HE EVER SAW!!! He used substandard Lattice on the top of my deck and never came to fix it after it finally passed inspection.

BEWARE OF ALAN BARTHOLOMEW... He lied, destroyed my property, doesn't know what he's doing and cannot be trusted!!!
