Possibly an Additional Type of Scam by Encore Management Group

Yesterday, Sept. 9th, a young man came to my door indicating that he represented several companies that provided home improvement services such as interior/exterior painting, landscaping, etc. He handed me a plastic encased flyer that hand four different company names on it, including Yancey and New Image Painting. He asked if we were interested in receiving a free estimate. As my husband & I have discussed having the house exterior painted, I said yes. He took my name, address, and phone # and indicated that a representative from New Image Painting would call for an appointment.

This morning, I received a call from a young man who said he was from New Image Painting and would sent up a time to come out and give us an estimate on exterior painting this week. I asked for a morning appointment, which he did not have. I then suggested next week and he indicated the he "only had a three-day window" and would have to call me back next week. It sounded strange, so I check my caller i.D. After his call and discovered I had been talking to someone from Encore Management Group, not New Image Painting. I suspect this may be some type scam and do not intend to make an appointment for an estimate, when and if he calls back.

In order to find out anything about Encore Mgmt., I had to Google the phone number, which led to not only to Encore's website, but to this site as well. I found four reports here involving employment scams, but it seems they are now canvassing middle/upper class neighborhoods supposedly offering "home improvement services".
