Bad service, Bad attitude

We bought purgo-like flooring and carpeting in Nov. Of 2005 readying the house for our son's graducation in June. We asked for a special sealant in the laundry room that Riterug told us would prevent damage if there was a water leak.

A couple weeks after the floor was installed, our washer leaked and the floor in our laundry room and foyer was destroyed. The sealant was not applied. Riterug sent out someone to replace the part of the floor that was destroyed.

The new floor was a different color than what was already down. It met in the middle of my kitchen. We had to make numerous phone calls, write letters and send e-mails, but they started folks coming out to confirm we had two colors of flooring. They sent an Armstrong rep, who indeed confirmed we had two colors. (Apparently the photos we e-mailed were not sufficient.)

They agreed to replace the part they put in incorrectly. And, it was replaced with yet another color that did not match the color on the other half of the floor - so it all began again. Reps visiting, unreturned calls and no follow through with promises.

More than a year later— well after we had family visit from 6 states for the graduation— we finally had one color of floor. The new install was sloppy. And now, our carpeting is severaly rippling, needing a restretching.

We talk to them about the financing - and they lied to us and said they couldn't make any allowances for the time it took for them to install the floor correctly. We discovered it was a lie, because they kept blaming the bank - and we talked to a vice president at the bank who said they can do whatever they want. The bank will make whatever changes Riterug tells them to.

All we can say is don't go there under any circumstances. We never will— and we've let everyone we know who had discussed new carpeting or redecorating to avoid Riterug at all costs. If I were Armstrong, I wouldn't let them sell my flooring.
