Home Consulting Services, American Solutions scam artists, rude, slick, dishonest

I was contacted by this company after searching online for a loan to buy a house in Maryland. They called me every day, sometimes more than once. Finally, I agreed to pay a fee of $449.00 to be eligible for 100% financing. After they got the money - a direct withdrawal from my checking account, I had to do the calling because my phone fell silent because they no longer called me.

Stupidly, I gave them all of the information necessary to check my credit. So far I have not seen any unusual activities on my accounts.

I spoke to two gentlemen - (866 743 1424) and (888 858 8600) and asked one of them (I don't remember which one) for some sort of documentation about the transaction, and a letter to take to the home seller when I found the house I wanted. I got a letter saying I was eligible for $250,000. I was also told that they would put me in contact with real estate agencies who would help me find a home, including foreclosures. That did not happen.

I could not find a house for $250,000 in so I gave up looking, called and and spoke to a woman who was quite rude. I told her that I would be contacting the Federal Trade Commission and she told me that since I was threatening her, I would not get my money back. I called again and spoke to operator and asked for their street address and she gave it to me. I wrote them (with a return receipt) asking for a refund of my money (May), and to date have not received a reply. I did however receive the return receipt which was signed for.

I have made several calls, left messages and got no response. Recently, when I called that number, I discovered that it is now owned by another company.
