We bought our house in January and when we contracted it was already in frame stage. We were rushed to close at the end of the month due to the end of the year being January 31. The day we did our walk through it rained so we were really unable to see all the problem areas outside.

Our driveway was poured the day before we closed so we were unable to walk on it or even drive on it. When Mercedes built our (side entry garage) home they built it too close to the lot line, phone box and also the electric box. This made our driveway only 1 car width up to the garage.

Much to our surprise, we were unable to park in the garage. We have had our house for 6 years and have never been able to park in the garage. Where most people could get 4 cars on the drive with the side entry, we are able to get 3.

We had 4 pages of items to be fixed when we closed and were promised that we would be taken care of. The warranty department changed managers at least 3 times in the 1st year, so every time I called concerning our problems we had to go through the same mess just to get someone to understand our situation.

We supposedly had a 2 year warranty, which was a big joke. Some of our other items that we cannot get resolved are:

1. Our yard, front and back were never graded so our lawn has been uneven. We lost our lawn twice because of bad soil. Our backyard goes straight down to the water and still has ugly trees that were not cleared when they were suppose to.

2. Our light bulbs in the kitchen and front porch area have blown numerous times along with the gfi tripping. We have literally changed the bulb on the front porch at least 10 times in 6 years. The kitchen bulbs are have probably been changed 7 times in the past 6 years. We have been told nothing is wrong.

3. Our kitchen and bathroom sink kept leaking until someone came and fixed the messed up bottom of the cabinet. (they laid a piece of laminet on top of the warped bottom) Gotta love that.

4. They couldn't get our toilets to stop wobbling so they cemented them to the ground. Now they're wobbling again.

5. They didn't caulk the kitchen properly the first time and they sent someone out to "try" and fix it. The water had already seeped into the seams and caused water damage on the counter tops.

6. The master shower had to be redone 3 times and the tiles are still uneven. I could have hired a drunk to do a better job. Really.

7. The airconditioning duct in the garage was up against the garage door and they had to move it back. It still sticks out too far.

8. The windows we contracted for are not the windows we got. I still can't get a correct answer for this. The lip of the window to open it is not at the bottom of the window but at the top.

9. When closing the back door, you have to pull it very hard to try and get a good seal. You can actually see daylight when the door is closed.

10. There are several areas on our ceiling that have rusted nails showing. We were told that this is normal.

I have had several "warranty managers" come out and assure me things would be taken care of but when I didn't hear from someone and called back they had left the company.

I have called the main office number, sent several emails but I never could get a response.

My experience with the Sales team was absolutely wonderful. It was when we closed that the nightmare began.
