Ray Graft GE Refrigerator and Service Contract — Both worthless

GE products are inferior, and their service contracts designed to thwart the consumer. We have a fridge which has never worked properly. At least 3 service calls, including 2 in recent months. The first time just before Christmas, at least $300 in food loss. The second time in March, more food loss. Second technician was seven hours' late in arriving, said he didn't call because he forgot his cell. Asked where he'd been, he said with other customers. Asked if those customers had phones he might use, he didn't have an answer. Finally in April, a check for $100 comes, with no explanation. They have a phone system from hell, but I'm finally told that that's the limit per 12-month contract.in other words, if there are five breakdowns, you still can only collect $100 total for bad food. Actually, the first incident, just before Christmas, was under the previous contract, which was renewed in February. But GE is unwilling to pay that $100. So it's not $100 per 12 months, but $100 per 14 months, or whatever they feel like telling you to get out of the second $100. Even if they paid $200, we wouldn't be breaking even. GE employees, I was told, can't give last names but have employee numbers. The person who told me this, I asked him his employee number. "I don't have one, " he said. Numerous disconnects while waiting on the phone. A company that can't shoot straight. Ray Graft, in Louisville, has an address but not a phone number, which ought to be a tipoff. He wouldn't be able to handle the calls if he had a number.
