Does not honor warranty repair for small Honda engines

In October, I purchased a walk-behind leaf blower with a powered by a Honda GC160 5 HP engine. I only used it once, for about 3 hours. This year (October) I started the leaf blower up, and after only about 3 or 4 minutes of operation, I heard a large bang and the leaf blower started shaking violently. I immediately shut the unit down. I couldn't open the fan housing access cover, so, I removed the bolts that held the access cover on.inside the fan housing the impeller was cocked to the side. The drive shaft on the Honda engine has sheared. When the drive shaft sheared, the impellar cocked to one side and hit an internal bolt that was protruding through the fan housing.

I then took the leaf blower to a local authorized repair shop, but, they said they couldn't make a definitive assessment as to whether the broken shaft was covered under warranty. This local shop, in turn, sent my leaf blower to another shop, Paul B. Moyer and Sons. Paul B. Moyer and Sons said my Honda was not responsible for a warranty repair because the impeller had hit the bolt, thereby causing the drive shaft on the motor to shear. This is an incorrect assessment! If it was true that the impeller was hitting the bolt, then ALL the impeller blades would have been hitting the bolt. However, only ONE impeller blade has a dent on it (large dent). The only way ONE impeller blade can have a dent, but not the other blades, is if the shaft shear first, thereby allowing the impeller assembly to twist inside the fan housing.

The shaft was defective, but, Honda's authorized diagnostic technicians are either completely incompetant, or extremely dishonest.in either event, I'm stuck with I repair bill that I shouldn't have to pay.

I will never purchase a honda product again!!! I warn you not to either! Honda either hires incompetant people, or they are very dishonest!!
