Demonstration of Cookware Causes Unauthorized $5,162 Account on Credit Report

I am serving in Iraq when I get a credit notification that Townecraft has established a $5,162 account in my name and SS# without my authorization. My wife was told that my SS# was justed needed to establish her credibility to sell their cookware. She made it clear to the salesman that she wasn't sure of her desire to sell these products and had to discuss it with me, in Iraq. She very quickly realized that she did not want to conduct this type of sales. I was first notified on the "hit" on my credit report of an "inquiry", about 3 weeks ago. I informed my wife of this situation, and she confirmed with a company representative that this was merely a formality.

Today, August 27, I received another credit alert at showed a this account in my name, with an effective date of August 1. I plan to do everything in my power to hold this company responsible to this illegal action against me. We have received no products and no bill has come in our name as of today. My wife is working to resolve this situation. This acccount must be totally removed from my credit report immediately or I will take more legal action.
