Ripoff Demolished rental apartment and left job unfinished

I hired Tom Westbrook in Oct 06 to rehab my second floor apt. He started work immediately and completely demolished the apt stating that the walls were all damaged from the leaking roof. He continued to work on the apt through Dec 06. During those 3 months he kept coming back to me for more money, claimming that he was running into problems which required additional work. I paid this man $21,000 dollars and he left the apt with the walls unfinished, taping was never done. Lights hanging, floors stripped, dust and dirt everywhere, no sinks or cabinets in the kitchen, bathroom walls partically ripped out, tub scratched beyond repair. Additionally, he destroyed the wood trim in the apt and broke most of the oak-wood base boards and door frames. To sum it up he left me with a disaster! It was later brought to my attention that Tom has drug problems, this I found to be true. If you value your property, do not hire this man to do anything!
