Demand made for a $1500 advance payment for plumbing repairs, just as I was preparing fly to

I needed emergency repairs of a plumbing leak just as I was about to fly to Florida. Plumber demanded an advance payment of $1500 before they would do anything. They said repairs required removal of shower enclosure. When I returned, 4 days later, I found they had made repairs that stopped the leak, but had not removed the shower enclosure.

We discussed a complete new installation to replace the existing shower enclosure, but they were asking for another $1000 before they began the work. I refused and told them I would pay the additional $1000 when they completed the work. They refused to begin work. I demanded a return of the $1500 I had given them. They refused.
