I rented a home from Elaine Yates in Smiths Grove, KY. The rent was $600.00 per month plus a security deposit of $600.00. Mrs. Yates never addressed any of the issues that went wrong with the home. She never showed any urgency toward any issues that needed to be repaired and or addressed. There were water leaks that damaged the bathroom floor and messed the floor up. The other shower leaked and she admitted that she had replaced that shower before. We moved on Memorial Day weekend after giving Ms. Yates almost a 2 months notice. She kept our security deposit of $600.00 and informed us she would contact us after getting an estimate. Nearly 2 months later, we get a check for $5.00 along with a letter that the estimate was more than she had predicted.

I feel Ms. Yates was unfair and the damages would have been less if she addressed the issues as they occurred. Also, we moved and had 5 days left in May that we didn't occupy the house and the lease had expired. So actually, Ms. Yates made an extra $100.00 on us. I know several property owners and they have all said Ms. Yates has "ripped" us off and was unfair. If you ever run across Ms. Yates, DO NOT LEASE property from her. She will not be honest and fair with you.
