I was moving from Colorado to California on July 1st. June 5th I signed a contract with American World Van Lines and they took a deposit of $698.83 on June 7 for the move on July 1. I got in contact with a Mark Hyman at extension 204 a few days before the move to confirm they were still set for July 1st. He assured me completely that they would be there. I called on June 30th just to make sure and to figure out an approximate time. - No answer, left a message.

July 1st came and went. Dozens of phone calls were made with no response from American World Van Lines.

A strange call came on July 2nd, the second day of a two day pickup window. A carrier called East/West Movers and Storage 702-795-8082 called on the 2nd and said (And I quote) - "It's a holiday weekend and no one wants to work", "Movers don't work on weekends" and the kicker - "I don't have a contract with you". Then they said they could come Tuesday (the 4th of July and two days past the contracted pick up date) by noon. THEY NEVER SHOWED UP! They never called.

They have never shown up (It's the 6th of July). After leaving over two dozen messages for the "customer service" department, "dispatch", Mark Hyman and Jason in Dispatch I am fit to be tied! They have not picked up their phone since June 30th! Funny tho, if someone calls that they don't know on caller ID they pick it up right away! Happened with my husband and father until they learned who they were!

I have ask numerous times for a refund - NO ONE HAS RETURNED A CALL! No attempt from the company has been maid to fix this disaster! I made a complaint to the bank and closed my account moving the money so they couldn't clean out the rest of the account.

The complaint is simple: American World Vanlines/Mark Hyman took my money and never fullfilled the written contract!

Sidenote: I had to hire another moving company and pay premimum prices for a rush charge to get my belongings to me! We had to leave for California on Monday to get to work on the 5th of July! We have an apartment & have already paid the $1,800 for the first months rent but have nothing in it thanks to American World Van lines! No Clothes, No Bed, Nothing, Nada, Zip!
