2001 AQUAtiva - Covenant Air & Water ripoff

We purchased an Aquativa Prism with Biogard system. My husband's first question to the sale person before we purchased this system was what our out of pocket expenses to maintain this system would be. We were told less than $85.00 per year. We could fit this into our budget and decided to purchase the system. After the first year we called to have the filters and ultraviolet light replaced and was told the cost would be $175.00. When I told the representative the sales person I purchased the system from stated the out of pocket expense would be less than $85.00 yearly, I was told that this information was wrong and the young man I purchased the system from was no longer with the company and that they had similar complaints from additional customers of the same nature.

I stated I felt we should have been contacted and told the information we may have received was false and given the opportunity to know our out of pocket yearly expense since it was more than double what I was originally told. If we would have known this, we would not have purchased the system and we lived on a very tight budget and could not afford this yearly expense. I asked if we could replace only the filters and was told no and that if this was allowed it would make the warranty null and void. At this point I stated I would just want the filters anyway and was told you could not purchase the filters without the ultraviolet lights. This was a total misreprensentation of what we were told about this product. Beware—out of pocket expense might be much higher than you are told!!!
