Ripped us off by not completing a job and out right lying to us

Here's the deal in a nutshell: We had the job done in January, It was not completed to our satisfaction. At the time the painter finished for the day, he said he would come back to finish the job and do touch ups.

After a week passed, we called Audrey at the office and she said that she would send some one back out. A full month passed and we called back. Audrey stated, that she thought the job had already been done and apologized.

An appointment was made to have them finish the job and to get a quote on a couple of other rooms. Karl came out, looked at the room, said the original painters had done a poor job & gave quotes on other rooms.

On 3/29 they were to come but did not. The office was called twice and never called back. We finally found a cell phone number and reached Karl who had gone to the wrong house and had the wrong phone number. An entire day was wasted waiting on them.

So the "painters" came by to fix a job originally started in January on 3/30 which was the next day.
After the continued pattern of poor service and poor communication we decided that it was best that they just fix the initial job.

After receiving this news they promptly drove off. I got a hold of Karl who gave me a story about forgetting some piece of equipment and that he would be back in 30 minutes. I said that it seemed odd for them to have left so abruptly with out telling us and he began to complain that they were expecting to do more rooms and did not come just to do touch up. When I stated that it was their responsibility to finish the initial job he hung up on me.

After many attempts to contact we got a call from Audrey at 6:30 pm (co-owner?) and my wife spent 10 minutes going back and forth with the gist of it being that they would not admit wrong doing. Despite the fact that Karl (other owner) lied to me about missing supplies and coming back in 30 minutes and drove off never to return.

They were incredulous that we wouldn't want to have them do other rooms after they screwed up the initial job and went to the wrong house yesterday. They said that they wasted two days on us... What a joke.

We've posted on a few forums and are in the process of looking into taking our grievance to small claims court on principal.
