Ink is not made to last and they seem to want it this way

Computers & Services

I spent almost $50 about 90 days ago for the small blk and multi colored cartridges for my officejet 6500 printer. I have literally written about 4 typed 3 page letters that I printed. I rarely print color and the blk is now reddish / brown indicating that the black cartridge is already running out. Consumers are aware that it is the ink that ensures continuing sales for the company, however there is a point where the consumer starts to feel "gouged"and taken advantage of. Believe me when I say that living alone, I do little printing unless HP is admitting that about 4- 3 page letters in regular font will cost you the almost $20 I spent for the black cartridge alone.

I am struggling like many people. If HP thinks this cost is affordable&they are out of touch completely with the un and under employed. I was recently laid off and thus counting every penny. I will greatly consider this when I buy my next printer. The company that will retain me as a loyal customer will be the company— who while profiting from the ink-does so in a way that is truly afffordable to ALL consumers of their printers. This ink issue is disgusting and blatantly sends the message of consumer greed as the source. Pure and simple.
