Magic Jack scam

I purchased a Magic Jack and when it came it installed easily. During the set up I was asked to select the Area code I wanted and I selected 720 which is the area I live in and that area code was available according to their web site. Immagine my surprise when the phone number had a 205 area code which is for Alabama. I live in Colorado. So anyone calling the number they gave me would be charged for a long distance call, even if they lived in my calling area. Customer service for Magic Jack told me I would have to pay to change my phone number to my calling area even though I selected a 720 area code during initial set up. This is an obvious scam to extract more money. I cancelled the service and returned the product immediately. Will not do business with this company and recommed anyone thinking of doing so, thinks twice.
