Grounded Laptop

I sent my laptop to have the DC Jack repaired in August via ebay. When I got the laptop back the laptop worked for only a day and shut off. I tried to send it back for the warrantee but no one ever picked it up from UPS so they just sent it back, and only gave me part of my money back (NO money from the 2nd shipping that was never picked up).
I Just recently took it into a local computer repair place and they did a free diagnostic and what they found was the excessive solder grounded the Motherboard frying it. I tried to contact the seller and he responed once but not to my reply.
