U410 sold misconfigured - how to reconfigure without reinstalling OS

U410 was in AHCI mode when purchased, however Intel Rapid Start requires RAID. What registry settings do I need to change to switch from AHCI to RAID without errors and without re-intalling OS? And why would it be configured wrong in the first place. This system is designed specifically to take advantage of Intel Rapid Storage and Rapid Start technologies.
