In July our musical performance group was contracted by Second Street Tap/Sept 106 N Second Street
Peotone, IL 60468-9247 to perform on Septembe 9th for a set fee of $350.00 This contract entails that our group sending out email notifications, flyers, bulletins, paid ads and hand flyers to promote this show and club. We incurred over 100.00 in advertising dollars, and hours of time to promote this event and club. Two days prior to the event, t he shady owner sends his barmaid Shelly, to call us and inform us that he will not pay us, yet we can play anyway if we wish. This performance was on the internet for two months advertising the gig, thousands of people notified, babysitting secured for our kids, practice time, other potentially paying performances were forfited because we thought we were playing at Second Street Tap. Our band lost the $350 from that performance and because our time was booked with this engagement.
Then Shelly was calling us on the 8th of September, STILL not sure if we could get paid. This unscrupulous owner then called the police and lies, claiming our band and manager threatened him on the phone, which is a complete lie and used the local Police department as a strong-arm because this owner couldnt face the light of day and own up to his responsibilities. This is THEFT OF SERVICES, same as walking out of Walmart and not paying for an item. ALL MUSICIANS / (potential waitresses): beware of this owner, he is NOT to be trusted.!!! He is a thief, same as a shoplifter.
