At Triangle Town Center In Raleigh, NC - Insane "policy" - Tries to force customer to buy more - No business sense at all whatsoever - Does not care about customer satisfaction

This afternoon I went to Subway in the Triangle Town Center mall in Raleigh, NC. After placing my order at one end of the counter, the sandwich boy made my sandwich, poured me an ice cold beverage, and gave my order to the cashier. My order total was $4.92 and I handed the cashier my Visa credit card.

Imagine my surprise when the cashier told me I could not pay by credit card because my total was under $5.00. She pointed to a tiny sign at the far end of the counter indicating this assinine "policy." I asked her why this policy was not posted at the OTHER end of the counter so people would be aware of this before placing an order in the first place, but she did not have an answer for me, and could only produce a gutteral moan.

She then suggested that I buy ANOTHER SANDWICH so that my total purchase would be more than $5 and I could charge it. But what on earth is one person supposed to do with TWO sandwiches? I am not a large fellow by any means, and actually found this suggestion quite insulting. How dare they try to force me to buy something I do not want or need!

Not having any cash on me, and not being able to convince the clerk that it was not worth losing a $4.92 sale over a mere 8 CENTS, I had no choice but to leave my already-prepared sandwich and soft drink on the counter, which they hastily tossed in the trash can. ALL OVER 8 CENTS! THEY WERE WILLING TO LOSE A $4.92 SALE AND A NOW-FORMER CUSTOMER OVER A MERE PITTANCE AS 8 CENTS!!!

This business is certainly not going to stay in business very long with such assinine practices. Do they realize that they are just a little booth in a fairly large food court, filled with vendors who do not play such retarded games with their customers, and who treat their customers with respect!

Guess what Subway?! After you so rudely refused to allow me to purchase my lunch there, I left you with a sandwich you were forced to throw away (a profit loss to you!) and swiftly marched ten steps to Le Petit Bistro where they not only happily accepted my credit card BUT ALSO made me a much better, gourmet sandwich on freshly baked panini bread! Bye bye Subway... Have fun as you continue to throw away your profits. I'll be looking forward to the new food court vendor that will be taking your place when your poor business skills force you to go out of business in the very near future.
